HealthFlex Annual Elections

How To Make Your Annual HealthFlex Elections

In late October, you will receive your election packet in the mail. Your packet will contain important materials that will help you make next year's elections for your health benefits. Please read these materials carefully as the choices you make will affect your health benefits for next year. If you do not receive a packet by November 1, please contact your program sponsor.

You will be making your health benefits elections via the General Board of Pension and Health Benefit's Web site. HealthFlex on-line elections begin at 12:01 a.m. Central Standard Time on November 1 and will close at 11:59 p.m., Central Standard Time on November 30. After the election period has closed, you will receive a confirmation of your benefits elections.

Browser Notice: You will need to use Internet Explorer 6.x or higher to complete the HealthFlex elections online. We apologize for any inconvenience.

By clicking on the HealthFlex/WebMD icon on the General Board's home page, you will be taken to the entry point for your HealthFlex program information, the WebMD Personal Health Manager™. In order to make your health benefit elections, you will either:

  • Login with your WebMD username and password if you are already registered.
  • Register as a new user and create your username and password.

Once you've logged into the WebMD Personal Health Manager™ site, click on the "Plan Information & Elections" on the left side of the screen under "HealthFlex Benefits". If you have not already entered your Personal Identification Number (PIN), a pop-up box will ask for your PIN, which can be found on your worksheet. You will only be required to enter your PIN once. You will then be directed to the "HealthFlex Benefits: Plan Information & Elections" Web site, where you will make your health benefit elections.

Your election packet will include a Web Guide for Making HealthFlex Elections, an instruction sheet to help you navigate and understand the Web site. Also see WebMD Annual Election Tips, available online.

Transition of Care

If you are new to the health plan and undergoing care for a serious ongoing condition (i.e., end stage renal disease, dialysis treatment, non-surgical cancer therapy [such as chemotherapy], symptomatic AIDS, solid organ or bone marrow transplant, 3rd trimester of pregnancy) and find that your current provider is not in the medical network, you may apply for transition of care. To do so, simply call your new medical carrier's customer service number (located on the back of your medical identification card) within 30 days of enrollment to determine if you need to apply. Transition of care allows you time to find a new in-network provider; it is not meant to manage a medical condition.
